An attempt to practice hard-edge modeling. Decided to do something I own and can intimately examine, ended up picking my flashlight.

I come from a photo background, so I used lumigons for the lighting. It just seems much more natural to me, like working with softboxes. Mesh is SubD with displacement for the grip. This was a great exercise in UV mapping for me as well.

The more I use it, the more infatuated I become with Modo. Modeled, textured and rendered in Modo 203. SureFire logo extracted from one of their PDFs and modified using Illustrator.
